Christmas often means we all have more waste to dispose of, and we are fortunate to be able to recycle the majority of the waste that is produced during this time.
Your wrapping paper, sweet tins, plastic packaging from new toys can all be recycled in the blue bin and any leftovers from your dinner can go in your green bin. Visit the What Goes in Which Bin page for more information.
Collections will continue throughout the festive period but please be aware that your collection day will change for a few weeks.

Real Christmas trees can be put alongside your green bin for composting in January. If it’s taller than your bin, please chop your tree to the size of your bin.
The Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) accept a range of materials for recycling and are only closed from 1pm Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Please note that there is significantly reduced capacity at the HRCs due to social distancing measures and you will need to book a slot in advance. Further information is available on Cambridgeshire County Council’s website.
