The Community Resilience Team manages the council’s response to incidents of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour. The team also reports to the Huntingdonshire Community Safety Partnership (HCSP). The HCSP was created under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and aims to tackle crime, disorder and anti-social behavior. Members of the HCSP are:
- Cambridgeshire Constabulary
- Cambridgeshire County Council
- Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Services
- NHS England
- Huntingdonshire District Council
- Probation Service and BeNCH
- Office of the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner
A number of other organisations attend HCSP meetings as invited members, including Link to Change, the Crown Prosecution Service and Chorus Homes.
The HCSP’s current priorities are:
- identifying and supporting vulnerable people
- identifying and responding to issues in vulnerable places
- targeting those who cause most harm
- targeting matters that are of most concern to our communities.
Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs)
A Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) is a multi-agency review of the circumstances in which the death of a person aged 16 or over has, or appears to have, resulted from violence, abuse or neglect by a person to whom they were related or with whom they were, or had been, in an intimate personal relationship, or a member of the same household as themselves. Since 13 April 2011 there has been a statutory requirement for local areas to conduct a DHR following a domestic homicide that meets the criteria.
Below are the DHRs that have been commissioned by the Huntingdonshire Community Safety Partnership:
